(Question No. 4750)


Mr Porter asked the Minister for Aviation, upon notice, on 10 October 1986:

(1) On how many occasions and in relation to which airports has the Commonwealth provided in the last 10 years more than 50% of the cost of land side development as part of the agreement to transfer an airport under the Airport Local Ownership Program.

(2) What was the extent of the additional Commonwealth contribution (a) in monetary terms and (b) as a proportion of the total cost of the land side development.


Mr Peter Morris —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) On 11 occasions and in relation to the following aerodromes:

Broken Hill; Cairns; Coffs Harbour; Cloncurry; Devonport; Goondiwindi; Kingscote; Maryborough; Port Hedland; Tamworth; West Sale.

(2) The extent of the additional Commonwealth contribution in monetary terms and as a proportion of the total cost of land side development at each airport is:
