Mr YOUNG (Special Minister of State) —Mr Deputy Speaker, with your indulgence, I claim to have been misrepresented.


Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Leo McLeay) —Is the Minister asking to make a personal explanation?


Mr YOUNG —Yes. Very briefly, on the television news this evening and I understand on some radio stations there is a suggestion that I, in some way, attempted to involve the Pope in a domestic political debate. My reference, of course, was to an extremely important statement made today by His Holiness on Australia's industrial relations system. Whilst I was anxious to draw the attention of the House to His Holiness's statement, I had no wish to involve him in any domestic political debate.
