To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled:

The humble petition of certain electors in the Division of Sturt, on behalf of the more than 600 electors who petitioned the Member for Sturt, dismayed with the distribution of the film ``Je vous salue Marie'' (``Hail Mary''), respectfully showeth that-

whereas the film ``Je vous salue Marie'' (``Hail Mary'') has been held by His Holiness the Pope and other Christian leaders to be blasphemous,

whereas the Film Censorship Board saw fit to register the film ``Je vous salue Marie'' (``Hail Mary'') in spite of the fact that blasphemous films cannot be registered under Regulation 13 (1) (a) of the Customs (Cinematograph Films) Regulations,

Your Petitioners, therefore, humbly pray that the House call for a review of censorship laws, regulations and administration to ensure that offence will not again be caused to the Christian community of Australia through the circulation of blasphemous material.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
