Mr GORMAN(10.53) —Tonight I would like to take the opportunity of thanking all the members of the Australian Labor Party within my electorate of Greenway for their support in the preselection ballot held last Sunday. The warmth of the support makes one feel very warm inside and confident of the efforts one puts into the many different facets of the work that befalls parliamentarians.

Mr John Brown —Did Armitage vote for you? That is the question.

Mr GORMAN —I would like to know that. I must thank particularly the branch presidents and secretaries, the returning officers and their assistants, the scrutineers, of course, who gave their time so willingly, and especially the members who voted for me. To them all I say: Please accept my sincere thanks for all of your efforts. I will continue to work as I have done in the past on behalf of all the constituents within my electorate. Thank you, Madam Speaker, for the time allowed me tonight.
