Mr PETER MORRIS (Minister for Transport)(5.39) —I say again: There is nothing magical about the corporate plan. I am all the more confirmed in my mind now that the Opposition sees some magic in the corporate plan. It had seven years to sort out the accounts, financial planning and organisation of the Australian National Railway Commission. It had an abysmal result. I do not want to go back to the political side of the issue. I simply say that there are provisions within the legislation that are far more important and will be far more effective in achieving the financial objective. For those reasons the Government cannot accept the amendment.

Question put:

That the amendment (Mr Lusher's) be agreed to.
