Mr COLEMAN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) Notes- (a) The criticism of UNESCO by the former Australian Ambassador to UNESCO, Professor Owen Harries, that UNESCO has become highly politicised, ideologically charged and anti-democratic; and

(b) Professor Harries' appeal to the United States of America to announce formally that it will withdraw from UNESCO in one year unless there are substantial changes in the organisation, and the removal of the present head of UNESCO; and

(2) calls on the Australian Government to consider Professor Harries' suggestion that Australia adopt a similar policy.
