Mr GORMAN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) condemns the failure of private banks and building societies to lower interest rates similar to the action taken by the various Government banks;

(2) calls on the Government to use all of its powers to ensure that all lending bodies reduce their interest charges to a level equal to that of the Government banks; and

(3) commends this Government on its housing policy which has caused such an upward trend in commencements of new homes.
