Mr RUDDOCK —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) expresses its concern at the Government's intention to give the Canberra Commercial Development Authority responsibility for construction and management of the proposed Erindale Shopping Centre;

(2) is of the opinion that such a decision would seriously jeopardise prospects for future private investment in the Australian Capital Territory; and

(3) calls for the encouragement of greater non-government participation in Canberra development projects through a clear demonstration that such investment is welcome and does not have to overcome inbuilt favoured treatment for semi- government authorities.

That motion will be seconded by my colleague the honourable member for Denison ( Mr Hodgman).

Mr SPEAKER —Order! I indicate to honourable members that there is a growing practice of introducing argument into notices of motion. I will examine that notice of motion and rule on it.
