Mr CHYNOWETH(9.58) —I rise to speak against the motion which attempts to reflect on the Minister for Science and Technology (Mr Barry Jones). I feel that it is important to remind the House and the nation of the definition of the word 'science'. Science is a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged showing the operation of general laws. I feel that many honourable members of this House could well spend the time contemplating this definition and applying it to politics. The motion is humbug. The Minister, Mr Barry Jones, has done more to advance the cause of science and technology in eight months than any other Minister who has held his portfolio. He has even done more in this short--
