Mr Connolly asked the Minister for Home Affairs and Environment, upon notice, on 14 September 1983:

(1) What amount has been allocated from the Ausstralian National Parks and Wildlife Service financial vote for World Heritage Areas other than South West Tasmania.

(2) Are there any proposals before the Government for nomination to the World Heritage List.


Mr Cohen —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) In 1983-84 $1,560,000 has been allocated for operational expenditure and $2 ,000,065 for capital expenditure in respect of Kakadu National Park.

(2) Currently there are no outstanding proposals submitted by the States or Territories to the Government for nomination to the World Heritage List.
