Mr RONALD EDWARDS —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) notes that working days lost due to industrial disputes declined from 3.5 million in the year to July 1982 to 1.9 million in the year to July 1983;

(2) notes that the largest reductions in industrial disputes occurred in the States of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia and the smallest reductions occurred in Tasmania and Queensland, and

(3) recognises that the Commonwealth Government's Prices and Incomes Accord is an important element in the successful conduct of industrial relations.

The motion will be seconded by the honourable member for Perth (Dr Charlesworth) .
