Mr BRAITHWAITE —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move, and the honourable member for Mallee (Mr Fisher) will second:

That this House-

(1) notes-

(a) the 0.4 per cent decline in Queensland's unemployment at the September quarter at a time when every other state showed increased unemployment, and

(b) the statistical figures for unemployed males and females between the ages 15-19 years at August 1983, which showed Queensland's rate as the lowest of any of the States, a position it has held consistently in August figures since 1979; and

(2) congratulates the Queensland Premier on this splendid performance in government in giving more job opportunities to young and older Australians, at a time when other Australian mainland States under Labor Governments show worsening unemployment statistics.
