Mr CADMAN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) expresses its alarm with the announcement by the ACTU to press for a uniform 38-hour week;

(2) recognises the massive additional costs any such decrease in working hours would place on very shaky Australian industries, and

(3) urges the Government to-

(a) activate the provisions of the accord to prevent a 38-hour week, and

(b) acknowledges that a reduction in working hours at this stage will choke off economic recovery and increase unemployment.
