Mr TUCKEY(10.41) —Clause 3 of Appropriation Bill (No. 2) 1983-84 states:

The Minister for Finance may issue out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund and apply for the services specified in Schedule 2, in respect of the year ending 30 June 1984, the sum of $1,861,432,000.

Other references are made to the Department of Finance. Tonight I express my concern about whether such sums can be matched by revenue. I say that because in the last few days in this place certain actions have been taken by the Prime Minister (Mr Hawke) and the Treasurer (Mr Keating) to support new and very worrying issues of tax.
