Mr ANDREW —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move, and the honourable member for Barker (Mr Porter) will second in support, that this House:

(1) notes that the Australian Labor Party Government in 1930 introduced a sales tax on wine and removed it less than a year later;

(2) expresses its concern that the present Government, without prior consultation with grapegrowers or the wine industry, has introduced another tax on wine;

(3) notes that the Government cannot achieve consensus with the wine industry about taxation on wine; and

(4) calls on the Government to revoke its decision to impose a tax on the wine industry.
