Mr HURFORD (Minister for Housing and Construction)(10.18) —I move:

That, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Works Committee Act 1969, the following proposed work be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works for consideration and report: Perth Airport international terminal complex and parallel taxiway.

This proposal is for extension of the existing taxiway system and construction of new international terminal facilities for Perth Airport, comprising a new international passenger terminal building; associated engineering services; taxiway works, apron, car parks and access roads; and construction of a taxiway on the western side of the existing 02-20 runway.

Both the western parallel taxiway and the international terminal complex will be located on the present airport site in accordance with the airport master plan. The total estimated cost of the works is $53m at July 1983 prices, comprising $3.0m for the western parallel taxiway and $50.0m for the international terminal complex.
