Mr KERIN (Minister for Primary Industry) —Pursuant to section 26 of the Tobacco Marketing Act 1965, I present the Australian Tobacco Board annual report for 1982. I seek leave to make a short statement concerning the report.

Leave granted.

Mr KERIN —I draw attention to the qualification of the Auditor-General that during the year the Board invested in bank bills, a form of investment not authorised under section 22 of the Tobacco Marketing Act. The Auditor-General subsequently wrote to me on this matter, noting that the investment in question was no longer held by the Board as at 31 December 1982 and advising that the Board had taken action to obtain the approval of the Treasurer (Mr Keating) to invest in bank bills. This approval has now been given. In all other respects, the Auditor-General found the Board's accounts and records to be satisfactory.
