Electors enrolled: 79 723 (at 5.2.96).

Industries: Mining, pastoral, mixed farming, fruit, timber, irrigation, agricultural support services, flour, butter and meat processing, light engineering and construction industries including aircraft engine works.

State electorates: Parkes includes parts of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly electorates of Broken Hill, Dubbo and Lachlan.
