Legislation / BILLS—THE PARLIAMENTARY PROCESS / Form of bill

Clauses

Clauses may be divided into subclauses, subclauses into paragraphs and paragraphs into subparagraphs. Large bills are divided into Parts which may be further divided into Divisions and Subdivisions. 1 When a bill has become an Act—that is, after it has received assent—clauses are referred to as sections.

The heading of a Part is printed in capitals and includes a subject summary.
