Senator MURPHY (New South WalesAttorneyGeneral) - I assure the honourable senator that I do not propose to leave the Opposition in the situation that it has created. I propose to take steps to enable the Committee to get out of that situation because I think it is in everyone's interest that I do so. I add to my motion for the adoption of the report of the Committee the following words:

That the Committee have leave to reconsider clauses 76 and 77 and proposed new clause 156a.

I do so because the suggestion made to deal with clause 76 will involve some slight amendment to clause 77. Also it appears that there might be a modification of clause 1 56a which will commend itself to the Committee.
