Senator TOWNLEY - Has the Minister for Health received any proposals from the National Health and Medical Research

Council suggesting the listing on food labels of the names of chemicals used for colouring, preserving and flavouring those foods? If not, will he ask the Council for a report along those lines?

Senator Sir KENNETH ANDERSON I will seek some information from my Department on this question which is linked with the National Health and Medical Research Council. I am not fully briefed on the matter and, as honourable senators know, I always forbear from giving kerbstone opinions on matters of health without first getting the facts.
