Senator BISHOP (through Senator O'Byrne) asked the Minister representing the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Is the Prime Minister aware that the South Australian Parliament has passed laws requiring that " full price labels " be displayed on all goods for sale in shops and other places of sale, which provisions, it is claimed, are the first of their kind in Australia?

2.   As the new South Australian price laws could provide one method of controlling prices - (a) Will the Government consider consulting with all State Premiers as to the possibility of applying similar provisions elsewhere? (b) Will the Government consider this new legislation as a feature in Commonwealth Territories?

3.   Are similar provisions likely to be included in the restrictive trade practices legislation?
