Senator FRASER - The Minister for Commerce has supplied the following answers : -

1.   A shipment of peas from New Zealand has reached the Australian market. Blue peas from this shipment have been sold at £1 8s. 6d. perbushel, but the consignment was not all b lue peas and prices have varied.

2.   The whole of the Tasmanian crop has been acquired by the Commonwealth and will be needed for service requirements.

3.   Arrangements are now being made for early payment.

4.   A first advance of 12s. per bushel is being made to growers. The balance of 3s. per bushel will be paid at a later date.

5.   The payment of an initial advance tor products pooled in a marketing arrangement pending determination of the final price is in accordance with the usual practice.
