Senator McLEAY (South Australia) (Minister for Supply and Development) . - I ask the Senate to reject the motion. The officers of the Senate are in no way concerned in this matter, because the ballots referred to are held secretly and the officers do not know By whom the votes are recorded. In view of the fact that urgent business awaits the attention of honorable senators, I suggest that this debate be concluded as quickly as possible.
