Senator PAYNE (Tasmania) . - I suggest that the Minister should postpone consideration of this definition, and that when the committee comes to consider clauses to which it applies specially, he should explain the significance of the word in each case. If satisfied with such explanations, I have no doubt that the committee will agree subsequently to the whole of the definition clause.


Senator A J McLACHLAN (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - I undertake that if I cannot satisfy the honorable senator on this definition before we conclude consideration of the measure, I shall recommit the clause.
