Senator ARKINS (New South Wales) . - I am surprised that Senator Herbert Hays should say that sharpedged tools cannot be manufactured satisfactorily in Australia. The "Kelly" axe, an American product, is used extensively in Australia, as also is the " Collins " axe. The " Plumb " axe, made in Sydney, is superior in quality to some of the best American axes. Hooks and slashers, which must have keen edges, are of such good quality that they are handed down from one generation to another. 'The slight saving that might be made is negligible.
