The CHAIRMAN - No. Honorable senators will see how necessary it is to observe the proper procedure. Unless Senator Wilson gets leave to withdraw the request ho has submitted in relation to the duty in the intermediate column, it will not be possible to deal any further with the duty in the general column.

Senator Lynch - At the last sitting, I intimated that I intended to move a request for a reduction of the duty in the general column if Senator Wilson was not prepared to do so. At what stage shall I be in order in moving in that direction?

The CHAIRMAN - If Senator Wilson obtains permission to withdraw the request now before the Committee, Senator Lynch will then be in order in moving a request for a reduction of the duty in the general column.
