Senator DRAKE-BROCKMAN (Western Australia) . - I listened with great interest to the honorable senator who has just resumed his seat, and I would not like 'to think that such a valuable industry as the sugar industry, which is mainly responsible for the past prosperity of Queensland, and which we hope will be responsible for its future prosperity after the present Government there have been displaced, is in jeopardy. But I still need to be convinced that the industry requires greater protection than it is afforded under this Bill. I should be very glad if he would produce the facts and figures upon which he bases his con clusion that] in the absence of an increased measure of protection, the industry will pass out of existence.
