Mr Wallis (GREY, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister representing the Postmaster-General, upon notice:

When is it anticipated that transmission of colour television will commence on the ABC regional television transmitters in South Australia.

Mr Lionel Bowen - The Postmaster-General has provided the following answer to the honourable member's question:

The program of testing and modification of transmitting equipment at national television stations has proceeded to the stage where all national television transmitters in South Australia are now transmitting colour test programs, with the exception of the Ceduna transmitter. Colour test transmissions are expected to commence from Ceduna before the end of December 1974.

Following the completion of these tests, an announcement will be made indicating when each ABC station will commence its regular colour service.
