Mr BEATON (BENDIGO, VICTORIA) - I preface my question to the Minister for Trade by stating that information has reached me to the effect that several huge shipments of canned chicken are nearing our shores and may be landed, to the detriment of Australian poultry farmers and processors, before any tariff which may be recommended by the Tariff Board can be applied. ' Has the right honorable gentleman received the report of the Tariff Board on its inquiry into the importation of canned chicken? If not, when does he expect to receive it? If the report contains a provision for tariff protection, will the Government apply the tariff without delay?
