Mr HAROLD HOLT - I can assure the honorable member that the committee has been very actively engaged on the task which it has been set. It has applied itself to that task quite steadily, and I think I express the views of the members of the committee, whom I met when they held their series of meetings in Canberra recently, when I say that the task has proved to be rather heavier than they imagined when they set about it. I doubt whether a report will be available by the beginning of the next session of the Parliament, but I shall make inquiries and see whether the time at which it can expected can be estimated.

Mr Calwell - Will a report be available before the double dissolution occurs?

Mr HAROLD HOLT - The honorable gentleman does not want a double dissolution.
