Mr BEAZLEY (FREMANTLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - I direct my question to the Minister for the Interior. In view of the fact that Parliament House is at all times the venue for Public Service staff and parliamentary employees, and at many times the venue for some hundreds of senators, members and visitors, will he promote the safety of pedestrians approaching the building from the hotels, public offices and parking places by having cross-walks painted on the roads? In explanation of my question I should like to say that recently I have seen two near accidents involving pedestrians because there are no pedestrian crosswalks leading to this building.
