Mr MAKIN (BONYTHON, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) - I address my question to the Minister for Social Services. Will he have a departmental examination made in order to ascertain the serious hardship that is being suffered by married invalid pensioners whose wives receive only the wife's allowance of £1 15s. a week? When two persons have a joint income of only £6 10s. a week, they must be living under conditions of extreme hardship. In those circumstances, will the Minister consider what action can be taken to alleviate the pathetic plight of these people?
