Mr BEAZLEY (Fremantle) .- I am not quite sure where the word " crime " is used in the bill. The definition is that it is an offence punishable by imprisonment. No period of imprisonment appears to have been specified in this definition. I believe there are some misdemeanours connected with the driving of motor cars, for instance, that are punishable by imprisonment, and that could become crimes within the meaning of this act. Can the Attorney-General clarify the position?
