Mr BEALE - I ask the Minister for the Interior whether it is a fact that one of the Government's nominees recently appointed to the Legislative Council of the Northern Territory resigned after having been a member of that body for only one day, because he considered it to be his duty to vote according to the Government's wishes on all matters that came before the council, and he objected to the fact that certain other Government nominees on the council had voted in favour of the holding of an inquiry into the dismissal of Dr. Webster, formerly the Government medical officer at Tennant Creek? Is the Minister also aware that Mr. Lucas, the Director of Works in the Northern Territory, has resigned from the Legislative Council?
