Mr MORGAN (REID, NEW SOUTH WALES) - Has the Prime Minister observed that, since the notable broadcast to the world last week by the Minister for External Territories (Mr. Ward) on the Bretton Woods Agreement, Great Britain is taking steps to bring before the bank, on the 1st May, a proposal to amend the terms of the fund to permitany member nation so to deal with its currency as to enable it to rectify any adverse trade balance which might result in unemployment, and thus overcome doubts which prevented countries such as Australia from joiningin the agreement? Is the Prime Minister also aware that Mr. Henry Margenthau one of the original sponsors of the fund, has stated that the appointment of a wellknown Wall-street representative as head of the bank will defeat the intentions of the sponsors? Will the right honorable gentleman call for a report from Australia's observer, Professor Melville, regarding these fresh developments?
