Mr WHITE (BALACLAVA, VICTORIA) - In respect of the death of prisoners of war, the practice of the Government has been to make deductions from allotments from the dates of decease, even though notification of death took place much later. I have been in communication with the Minister for Defence with regard to the matter, and many protests have been received from the relatives of these men. Will the Prime Minister collaborate with the Minister for Defence and other Service Ministers, in order to find out whether the harsh practice of making deductions from the estates of deceased members of the forces is being continued?
