Mr BEASLEY (WEST SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Supply and Development) - It is the desire of the Government that imported sulphur used in the manufacture of sulphuric acid shall be displaced as quickly as possible by the use of the available resources of sulphide minerals in Western Australia. The Mines Department of Western Australia, in association with the Controller of Minerals Production, is doing all that it can to accelerate this substitution. In particular, two possible sources of supply are being investigated, namely, the Iron King mine at Norseman, and the Great Victoria mine at Burbidge.
