Mr PERKINS (Eden) (Monaro) (2:25 AM) . - I should like clauses80 to 93 to be deleted. I do not agree that the proposed standing committee will be valuable. If there were no broadcasting commission I could understand the proposal, and I would concede that the committee could administer the national broadcasting system. However, to appoint a commission and then take away some of its powers and give them to a suction of this Parliament is not progressive. This action will not receive the support of the public, which is opposed to hoards and commissions, because it considers that they arc doing work that the Parliament could do. If any supervision can be exercised by Parliament, it should be exercised not by a committee but by the whole Parliament. I do not intend to move for the deletion of the clauses, hut I make clear my objection to them.
