Mr BREEN (CALARE, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I draw the attention of the Minister for the Army to the fact that I have received a letter this morning from Mr. H. K. Nock, a former Commonwealth. Minister, stating that, in a drought stricken area in central New South Wales, farmers have been deprived of the use of water for stock because the military authorities have taken over a certain tank. He requests my cooperation in inducing the Minister to request the military authorities either temporarily to give up possession of this tank, or, to provide water from some other source, either by transporting it by rail or by a diversion of water from the Lachlan River. Will the Minister make inquiries from the authorities concerned, and ascertain whether it is possible to allow the farmers the temporary use of the water?
