The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN (Mr Nairn (PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA) - Order! The discussion must not proceed on these lines.

Mr FROST - I reply to the Minister's question by asking him one in return. What amount did Tasmania pay in petrol tax in those years?

The TEMPORARY CHAIRMAN.The honorable member must not pursue that question further.

Mr FROST - This bill is far-reaching and of importance to all the State's. I trust that the Government will accept the various amendments foreshadowed by the Acting Leader of the Opposition. It' is strange that it should have dispensed with private members' day in order to debate an amendment, only to agree to that amendment to-night.

The CHAIRMAN - The honorable member's time has expired. " '
