Mr LYONS - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follow : -

1.   Yes.

2.   Representations on the subject have already been made by the Attorney-General (Mr. Latham) whilst in London, in addition to representations by cablegram from Australia, urging that the dominions be given the same preference as the Crown colonics. It is intended to bring the matter up at the Ottawa Conference.

3.   The Premier of Queensland has offered to make Mr.Pike, Acting Agent-General for that State, available to go to Ottawa in order to supply information on sugar and other products with which he is familiar. In reply, the Premier has been informed that, in such an event, Mr. Pike will be consulted on any matter that arises in connexion with sugar.
