Mr FORDE (Capricornia) (Minister for Trade and Customs) .- The Government has given very careful consideration to the compilation of the lists included in the motion, and it has also sympathetically considered every application made for exemption from primage duty. I think every impartial honorable member will realize, if he examines the lists, that a great deal has been done to assist the primary producers. We should very much like to enlarge the free list; but, as I have already pointed out, it is essential that we shall obtain sufficient revenue to enable us to carry out the undertakings that have been given to the Premiers Conference. I regret, therefore, that I am unable to accept the amendment.

Amendment negatived.
