SELECTION OF BILLS—STANDING COMMITTEE—REPORT NO. 16 OF 2012The Chair of the Selection of Bills Committee (Senator McEwen) tabled the following report: SELECTION OF BILLS COMMITTEE REPORT NO. 16 OF 2012 1. The committee met in private session on Wednesday, 28 November 2012 at 6.22 pm. 2. The committee resolved to recommend—That— (a) the provisions of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Legislation Amendment Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 27 February 2013; (b) the provisions of the Australian Education Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 13 March 2013; (c) the Biosecurity Bill 2012 and the Inspector-General of Biosecurity Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 27 February 2013; (d) the provisions of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Organised Crime and Other Measures) Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 13 March 2013; (e) the provisions of the Customs Amendment (Miscellaneous Measures) Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 13 March 2013; (f) the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Amendment (Retaining Federal Approval Powers) Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 25 February 2013; (g) the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Amendment (Towards Transparency) Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Education, Employment and Workplace Relations Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 12 March 2013;
(i) the provisions of the Native Title Amendment Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 13 March 2013; (j) the Parliamentary Service Amendment Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 5 February 2013; and (k) the provisions of the Private Health Insurance Amendment (Lifetime Health Cover Loading and Other Measures) Bill 2012 be referred immediately to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 12 March 2013. 3.
