Senator CORMANN (Western Australia) (10:34): I would like to speak to the motion. I am just pointing out that this is a government in complete shambles. This is a government that is now proceeding to table this report, to immediately go into debate on the legislation—

The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT ( Senator Cameron ): Senator Cormann, resume your seat. Your comments have to be relevant to the motion.

Senator CORMANN: Yes, sure—I am observing the fact that the government are bringing forward the tabling of this report so that they can then immediately proceed to debate the legislation without the Senate having a proper opportunity to consider the findings in this report.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Senator Cormann, that is not relevant to the motion. The question is that the motion be carried.

Question agreed to.

Ordered that the report be printed.
