Senator CASH (Western AustraliaMinister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service, Minister for Employment and Minister for Women) (19:52): Again, Senator McKim, I appreciate you have not been in the chamber. I have been asked this question a number of times by both representatives of the Australian Greens and the opposition. I have answered the question the same way each time—that is, as you would be aware, the government's preferred position was there was no transition period. That was not preferred by the Senate.
