The government will examine Australia’s liquid fuel security in the National Energy Security Assessment which will be undertaken by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism and is intended to be released to the public in the second half of 2011. This will examine Australia’s current energy security conditions as well as provide a trend analysis of energy security conditions in the short, medium and long term. Any liquid fuel security concerns arising from this assessment will be considered in the paper, which is intended to be finalised during 2012.
