Senator ABETZ (9:13 PM)
—Can I make a very brief contribution on the third reading, and that is to encourage the government to accept the Senate’s amendment. If this scheme is as important as the minister has indicated to us that it is, something that we in the coalition fully agree with and support, then I am sure this one small amendment in relation to the issue of transparency will not stand in the way of delivering certainty to the sector. I simply urge the government not to play politics with the sector, with the industry, for its own political purposes. I encourage them to allow this amendment to go through without bouncing it back to the Senate, which will only ensure further delay.
