Senator SIEWERT (10:54 PM) —I will address all the amendments together. We do not support any of the amendments. We oppose barriers being placed in the way of unions accessing non-member records. As it stands, union officials can only access relevant records and face civil penalties and lose their permit if they misuse their rights. We believe that this is sufficient protection and we do not need further Work Choices type restrictions continuing so we oppose the whole group of amendments.
