Senator CORMANN (12:42 PM) —I have just a couple of questions of the minister about the impact of this amendment. What is going to be the fiscal impact, in terms of the expected savings, of not having to pay the private health insurance rebate to people whom the government expects will leave private health insurance? What is going to be the impact, in terms of revenue, of not collecting the Medicare levy surcharge from those who no longer will be caught by it? What is going to be the impact on private health insurance premiums, moving forward? What is your expectation of future additional increases to private health insurance as a result of this measure? What is your expectation of the degree of funding lost to the health system as a result of people leaving private health insurance? What is your intention in terms of compensating the states and territories for the impact of this measure on their public hospitals?
